Weekly Playlist 8: Bowie

I’ve been listening to a lot of Bowie recently, working my way through all of his albums in order. This will turn into a lengthy blog post in due course.

In the meantime I thought I’d put together a playlist of some lesser-known Bowie tracks for this week’s playlist. Let’s be clear, they’re not that unknown. They’re mostly album tracks, indeed some are even singles (and Absolute Beginners made it to number 2 in the UK charts). However, they’re not the most well-known of Bowie’s songs, but they’re all excellent and worthy of some more attention.

1. Beauty and the Beast (from “Heroes”, 1977)
2. Teenage Wildlife (From Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps), 1980)
3. Station to Station (From Station to Station, 1976)
4. Absolute Beginners (Single and Absolute Beginners soundtrack, 1986)
5. The Bewlay Brothers (From Hunky Dory, 1971)
6. Strangers When We Meet (From The Buddha Of Suburbia Soundtrack 1993)
7. Seven (From Hours…, 1999)
8. Slip Away (From Heathen, 2002)
9. Where Are We Now? (From The Next Day, 2013)
10. I Know It’s Gonna Happen Someday (From Black Tie, White Noise, 1993)
